Sometime this past summer (memory fails me, but it might have been late June), a dozen friends from the BookTube space and I got together to conjure up something special. The idea was to create a book of short stories -- each of which represented us individually. Our editor, Jake (of PulpMortem), challenged us all to write something that would represent not only our specific tastes in genre fiction, but also the "vibes" of our YouTube channels. We were making something for the viewers -- the folks who join us for every single upload and listen to us ramble about books -- and for that, we all happily accepted the challenge.
Something like five months later, the work was complete. Jake had put in a ton of work editing our baker's dozen submissions into something readable. He and Nick (The Book Graveyard), with some generous help from Justin of Fathom Press, formatted the unholy conglomeration into a convenient mass-market paperback size, designed a typeface, and slapped on a wonderful cover painting by the talented Wizard Jim (News From the Gelding).
