The first draft of my new anthology "Sand & Steel" is finished!
All five of the stories have been written; now I move on to editing and proofreading. Each one of these stories offered a specific challenge for me, but they were all a ton of fun! I'm itching to get them out there for folks to read, but it will be just a little while longer before the book is ready to hit the market. I will however, list the stories and a simple synopsis for each one here, for anyone interested.
"Golden Rice"
A story about Siloh of Uz, in which he fights off a uniquely talented assassin in his search for an urn filled with a priceless mythical grain.
"By the Sign of the C.R.O.S.S."
A dark, supernatural, "weird west" story taking place in late 19th century New Mexico. It concerns the harrowing experience of a young saloon waitress with a creature out of her worst nightmares.
"Mage Killer"
A short novelette starring the thief and killer-for-hire Vassago the Vile (pictured above). Plenty of dark corridors, undead monsters, and unsavory magics lie in wait.
"A Notch in the Knife"
A story set in "ye olde England", in which a boy named Will attempts to retrieve the sword of his late crusader father from the enigmatic witch who stole it.
"Silver Wings"
Another Siloh story. This one sees the Uzzari adventurer reuniting with an old friend and joining the hunt for a giant flying serpent across a treacherous desert.
Again, I can't wait for folks to read these! I'm hoping to have all of the edits done by the end of the week, but we shall see...
